Natural smile with dental veneers in Sotogrande

What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are thin shells of porcelain or composite bonded to the visible surface of the teeth to correct their shape, colour or size. They are one of the most common cosmetic dental treatments.

Porcelain veneers are very strong and keep their colour over time; composite veneers are made directly in the clinic and need less preparation. At The Dentists Sotogrande we design each smile around your features and what you would like to achieve, always aiming for a natural result.

Who is it for?

  • Stains that whitening cannot remove
  • Small chips or worn edges
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Teeth with an irregular shape or size
  • Minor misalignment that does not need orthodontics

How treatment works

  1. 01

    Assessment and smile design

We study your smile, gums and bite, and agree with you on the result you are looking for.

  2. 02

    Trial

Where possible, we show you a preview so you can see how your veneers will look.

  3. 03

    Preparation and records

We prepare the tooth minimally if needed and take the records to make your veneers.

  4. 04

    Fitting

We bond the veneers, adjust your bite and give you aftercare advice.

Typical duration

Composite veneers can be done in a single visit. Porcelain veneers usually need two or three appointments over two to four weeks. With good care, porcelain veneers last for many years.

Do teeth need to be filed down for veneers?

It depends on the case. Often the preparation is minimal and only affects the enamel; with composite, sometimes the tooth does not need to be touched at all. We explain this at your assessment.

Do veneers look natural?

Yes, when they are well designed. We choose the colour, shape and translucency to suit your teeth and face so the result looks natural.

Porcelain or composite veneers?

Porcelain is stronger and more colour-stable; composite is more conservative, quicker and more affordable, but may need touching up over time. We recommend the right option for your case.

How do I look after veneers?

Just like your own teeth: good brushing, flossing and regular check-ups. Avoid biting hard objects and, if you grind your teeth at night, wear a night guard.
